How it began
A World Found by Slowing Down
Tales of Willowmere began the way most true things begin — not with a plan, but with a feeling. A sense that somewhere, just beyond the noise of ordinary life, there is a lane that grows quieter as you walk it, a pond that holds the sky, a willow that has been standing long enough to know things.
Jerry Lee Pfeister spent years in the hurried world before he found Willowmere. The stories came slowly, the way the best things do — not rushed, not forced, but discovered. Dog and Duck arrived one morning, fully formed, as if they had been waiting patiently for someone to notice them.
The first book, Dog & Duck: The Day We Found Each Other, is about friendship and the unexpected. But underneath that, it is about something older: the idea that the world is still full of quiet wonders, if you are willing to walk slowly enough to find them.
